1- sore throat

Sore throat is a painful inflammation of the pharynx. The pharynx

is the part of the throat that lies between the mouth and the larynx

or voice box. It is associated most commonly with the common cold or influenza
While most sore throats heal without complications, in some cases, they develop into a serious illness.

Causes:- Sore throat are commonly caused by viruses (often the same viruses that cause colds or other upper respiratory illnesses) or bacteria

• as the infection of streptococcal bacteria commonly called strep throat. Sore throat may also be caused by (cigarette smoke), injury, allergy or postnasal

  Symptoms of sore throat

• Pain in the throat and difficulty in swallowing.
• Pain may spread to the ears.
• The throat is reddish, the tonsils are swollen and may be coated
• Possibly a high temperature.
• Swollen lymph nodes under your jaw and in your neck may occur.
• If the sore throat is due to a streptococcal infection, the tonsils often swell and become coated. The patient runs a temperature, has foul-smelling breath and may feel quite ill.

2-Laryngitis

• Laryngitis is an inflammation of the larynx. It causes hoarse voice or the complete loss of the voice because of irritation to the vocal folds

• excessive coughing, smoking, or alcohol consumption

Symptoms

Important Bio-active Ingredients in Orex ^® Formula

1 – Clove: The clove  is a pink

flower bud of the clove tree that turns brown when dried.

Eugenol is the principal chemical component of clove oil due to its analgesic, local anesthetic, anti-inflammatory effects

2 – Menthol:

 

Menthol  is an organic compound made synthetically  or obtained from peppermint  Menthol  has the same effect of chloroform as a powerful local anesthetic

Menthol has local anesthetic and counter irritant qualities, and it is widely used to relieve throat irritation.

Menthol is responsible for cooling sensation that it provokes when inhaled, eaten, or applied to the skin

Menthol has analgesic properties that are mediated through a selective activation of κ-opioid receptors.

Menthol also enhances the efficacy of ibuprofen in topical applications

3- Thyme:

4- Chamomile & apiginin:

Chamomile is used topically in mucous membrane inflammations

using a 2% concentration of chamomile in oil and cream has the same  effect as low dose cortisone (0.25-0.5%)  when its used topically

(High concentration of chamazulene & apiginine) inhibits production of pro-inflammatory mediators & inhibits the degranulation of mast cells
